Implementation of Micro-Community Activity Restrictions starting 22 June 2021

On 21 June 2021, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, announced the tightening of the Implementation of Micro-Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) starting 22 June 2021. Considering this announcement, PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (“Matahari” or “the Company”; stock code: “LPPF”) will fully comply and supports all the necessary measures to maintain its customers' and employees' health and safety.

 Matahari has 74 stores nationwide (50% of the total store base) impacted by shorter opening hours, curfews or other COVID-related constraints introduced to manage the spread of the pandemic. We will continue to enforce our own safety protocols and support all measures to manage customer and employee welfare.

 First, the Company's support centre office activities have moved to full work from home (WFH) status starting 17 June 2021 for six weeks. Office activities will resume considering the situation updates, provided that the risk to our staff is low and that all necessary preparations are in place. Before office re-opening, employees will conduct self-assessments and COVID tests.

 Second, the Company’s stores will remain fully open in line with current or reduced mall operating hours, and despite added mall challenges such as reduced F&B capacity,  unless there is an order to close, with strict safety protocols and maintain our usual strong customer service by giving our customers our “SHOP SAFE – 5 STAR PLEDGE”.

 The Company will closely monitor detailed guidelines from the authorities and will follow such guidelines for its stores. Due to the diligent efforts of the Matahari Operations and Risk teams, Matahari’s safety protocols are well established. The Company will comply with any instructions from the authorities in line with good corporate citizenship.

 Third, during the PPKM period, the Company will focus on keeping customers engaged through our digital channels. The Company is prepared through its channels, Shop & Talk, and presence on selected digital marketplaces.

 The Company will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate and measurable steps so that the Company can manage risks related to the impact of the COVID-19 spread.
