PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (“Matahari” or “the Company”; stock code: “LPPF”) today announced that Matahari is cautiously reopening its Jabodetabek stores across Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th June (excluding Bogor stores slated for June 22nd) to add to stores in areas where PSBB has been lifted.

All Matahari stores are equipped to manage customer and staff’s health and safety by implementing prescribed precautions. These include social distancing measures and each Matahari team has been equipped with all tools, such as cashier screens, distancing markers, clothing sterilizers, thermometers, masks, and hand sanitizers. They will deliver the best recommended practices to continue to serve customers safely during these difficult times for our staff, our customers and their families.

Matahari has adopted the following steps to ensure we maintain our usual strong customer service by giving our customers the following “SHOP SAFE – 5 STAR PLEDGE”:
PROMISE 1 – FAMILY FIRST Priority cashier for families and elderly
PROMISE 2 – MEDICAL Front of queue for medical workers
PROMISE 3 – ESSENTIALS Baby wear in prominent easy to find positions
PROMISE 4 – SAFER STORES Properly sanitised stores where our staff will wear masks and provide sanitizer
PROMISE 5 – ROOM TO MOVE We make sure social/physical distancing is maintained in all of our stores

“The re-opening of Matahari in Indonesia has been gradual commencing with 24 stores in early May and reaching 95 stores at Lebaran. This latest round of store re-openings will see 141 stores out of 153 trading as at Tuesday 16th June. Throughout these phased re-openings Matahari has been inspected by local authorities 133 times with a 100% compliance rate for staff and customer safety has been the utmost priority. The Company will now prioritize helping the local Indonesian supply chain by gradually ramping up its intake of locally sourced merchandise unable to be brought in during the safety-driven store closure period,” said Terry O’Connor, CEO of Matahari.
